Description

Unifit 039 is a roll of un-faced glasswool specially designed for providing superior thermal and acoustic insulation in pitched roofs and external timber frame walls. Unifit 039 has a unique stiffness characteristic enabling extremely easy 'friction fit' installation. Special ‘x' marking enable easy measurement and cutting.   Note: Unifit 035 has better thermal performance (0.035 W/mK) compared to Unifit 039 (0.039 W/mK). A thinner layer of Unifit 035 can be used to obtain the same thermal performance of Unifit 039.

 

Application

Pitched Roof - between rafters

  For combined thermal and acoustic insulation of 'room in the roof' type construction, Unifit 039 should be installed between rafters. The internal lining of the room may be plasterboard or timber boarding. Unifit 039 is comparatively rigid roll product for easier fast 'friction-fit' installation. Special 'x' markings also enable more accurate cutting to match rafter spacing.  

External Walls - timber frame

  For combined thermal and acoustic insulation in external timber frame walls Unifit 039 should be installed between the studs, but with an airspace between the insulation and the external cladding.

Technical Properties

 

Thermal Performance

  Thermal conductivity of Unifit 039 is 0.039 W/mK. The table above also gives thermal resistance (R) values for each product thickness.  

Acoustic Performance

  Unifit 039 meets the requirements of the New Acoustic Regulations (NRA) for minimum insulation against vehicle noise of 30 dB.  

Fire Resistance

  Unifit 039 is non-combustible (Euroclass A1).  

Supplementary Properties

  Glasswool is non-carcinogenic, non-hygroscopic and non-capillary. It does not contribute to the growth of bacteria. It is chemically neutral and does not cause corrosion. It neither contains impurities nor non-fibrous particles.
