Classic 044
Application : Suspended Ceilings - Internal walls
Datasheets : Classic 044 datasheet
Description
Classic 044 is a roll of unfaced glasswool, available in a range thicknesses to suit various building applications. Classic 044 is designed mainly for thermal and acoustic insulation of lofts (installed horizontally on the floor of the loft) but may also be used in 'rooms-in-the-roof' (between pitched rafters).
Applications
Classic 044 is suitable for the following applications:

1) Ceilings - single layer between joists
For combined thermal and acoustic insulation in the roof space at ceiling level Classic 044 should be rolled out between the ceiling joists. Note: A thinner layer of Classic 044 can be used to obtain the same thermal performance of Classic 044.
2) Ceilings - double layer between and above ceiling joists
For increased insulation performance in ceilings, Classic 044 should be installed in two layers. The first layer should be rolled out between the ceiling joists and, a second layer of to be placed at right angles above the joists.
3) Pitched Roof - between rafters
For combined thermal and acoustic insulation of 'room in the roof' type construction, Classic 044 should be installed between rafters. The internal lining of the room may be plasterboard or timber boarding. For easier friction-fit installation in this application and better thermal performance, Knauf Insulation recommends Thermolan Unifit 039 or, for ultimate performance Unifit 035.

4) Internal Partition Walls
For acoustic insulation of internal partition walls with steel or timber frame, Classic 044 should be installed in the cavity between the sheets of plasterboard.

Technical Properties
Thermal Performance
The thermal conductivity Classic 044 is 0.040 W/mK. The table above also gives thermal resistance (R) values for each product thickness.
Acoustic Performance
Classic 044 satisfies the requirements of the New Acoustic Regulations (NRA) for minimum insulation against vehicle noise of 30 dB.
Fire Resistance
Classic 044 is non-combustible (Euroclass A1).
Supplementary Properties
Glasswool is non-carcinogenic, non-hygroscopic and non-capillary. It does not contribute to the growth of bacteria. It is chemically neutral and does not cause corrosion. It neither contains impurities nor non-fibrous particles.
Benefits
- Reduces heating bills by preventing heat loss through the roof.
- Blocks outside noise and segregates inside noise.
- Provides fire safety by being non-combustible.
- Easy to install.
- Reduces handling and transport through efficient compression packing.
- CE Marked and also has the Keymark stamp of quality
CE Mark Designation Code: MW_EN 13162_T2_WS_WL(P)
